Our story

I got tired of watching teachers do all of this alone.

HARVYN's founder, a teacher, standing beside a colourful student-made wing mural in a school hallway
HARVYN was built by a teacher, in a hallway a lot like this one.

The assignment nobody else was carrying

I taught a Grade 4/5 split.

I could plan with a Grade 4 teacher. I could plan with a Grade 5 teacher. But nobody was carrying the assignment I was actually carrying.

That's the whole idea behind HARVYN: find the educator who understands the job you're actually doing.

Does this sound familiar?

How much of your teaching life are you still doing alone?

You finally sit down at night... and open the laptop again.

You spend an hour planning something and think, "There has to be another teacher somewhere doing this exact same thing."

You wish you could just find someone teaching your grade or subject and ask, "What are you doing for this?"

Thousands of educators are figuring out the same things at the same time. We're just doing it separately.

That's the idea behind the Harbour.

After rough water, you come into harbour.

You find your people. You put some of the load down. You remember that you were never supposed to navigate all of this alone.

When it's time to head back out, you leave a little lighter than you came in.

That's what I want HARVYN to be for educators.

And the pink?

A little more time. A little more energy. A little more you.

It's about what's left for you at the end of the day — for every educator who plans for learners.

The mission

HARVYN exists to help educators stop planning alone. Not more content. Not more noise. Not another giant teacher group.

Useful people, shared thinking, and a lighter load.
